Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is seeking public comment until 5:00 pm on July 2nd on a
draft Beneficiary Mitigation Plan (BMP) which details how the State plans to distribute
the $8.125 million that was allocated to Alaska from a class action lawsuit against
Volkswagen for its illegal use of emission control “defeat devices”. Each of the public
meetings will:
1.include an overview of the settlement and the State’s draft plan,
2.offer an opportunity for questions to be answered by program staff, and
3.provide a venue for submitting public comment on the plan.
