HomeMy WebLinkAboutAlaska Energy Efficiency Partership Charter Statement 09-01-2011-VEEPAlaska Energy Efficiency Partnership Charter Statement September, 2011 The following represents the collective guiding statements of the entities making up the Alaska Energy Efficiency Partnership, otherwise known as “the Partnership.” Mission Statement: To improve the coordination of efforts promoting the adoption of greater end -use energy efficiency measures and energy conservation behaviors in Alaska through information sharing and integrated planning so that Al aska may become the most energy efficient state in the nation. Core Purpose: End-Use Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation Core Values: Collaboration; Communication; Community Action. Goals:  To reach 15% improvement in electrical energy efficiency between 2010 and 2020;  To reach 15% improvement in heating energy efficiency between 2010 and 2020;  To promote modern, efficient, and sustainable transportation options; and ultimately  To see Alaska become the most energy efficient state in the nation. Principles: We believe that:  A coordinated approach is the most effective and efficient means for facilitating improvements in energy efficiency and conservation statewide and across all energy and economic sectors;  Information sharing among stakeholders is a prerequisite to coordination;  Adequate coordination will lead to greater opportunities for collaboration and enhanced capacity for working group members;  Collaboration will help us realize our goals faster; and  Consolidating information about energy efficiency and conservation into one place - a virtual resource center - is an effective tool of collaboration. Deliverables: We pledge, to the best of our abilities, to:  Proactively cultivate an environment of collaboration rather than competition within o ur community of stakeholders;  Attend regular, quarterly meetings to share information, coordinate planning, and discuss lessons learned from completed projects;  Promote easier access to information and resources by contributing to our shared virtual resour ce center, www.akenergyefficiency.org; and  Endorse the agreed upon universal symbol for EE&C in Alaska, the www.akenergyefficiency.org logo and tagline.
