On page 6A (Table 1) provide an explanation of why no power is generated in September. 2. Clarify the purpose of the balancing valves on the heat exchanger inlet and bypass lines as shown on drawing sheets 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, & 15. 3. Coordinate drawing sheets 2 and 7. One sheet shows a secondary pump in the old school and the other sheet doesn’t. 4. On page 44, section 15050, indicate that the piping inside buildings shall be either type "L" copper or schedule 40 steel. 5. On page 44, section 15120, delete the reference to a type "L" copper carrier pipe. (AEA has had some bad luck with buried copper carrier arctic pipe.) 6. In the Calculations section, explain how the System Loss of 625000 Btu/hr (for all systems currently connected) was determined. 7. As discussed in the Noorvik report, include as much field data as possible in the report. This could be accomplished by including a ’Raw Data’ subsection in the Calculations section. Some of the handy things to have included would be: I. POWER PLANT A. Make & model of generators B. Make & model of radiators C. Operating point at time of site visit 1. KW being produced 2. Engine inlet and outlet coolant temps 3. Engine inlet and outlet coolant pressures D. Minimum return temperature allowed to engine E. Engine design flow and max. external pressure F. 3 yrs of most recent power production numbers II. USER FACILITIES A. Make, model, and capacity of boilers B. 2 yrs of most recent fuel consumption numbers C. Make & model of circ. pumps 1. Operating point (inlet and outlet pressures) D. Boiler supply set temperature E. Actual supply and return temperatures (and outside air temp. at the time) It is understood that not all of this information will be available at each site due to lack of gages, lack of organized records, etc. Include the information that is available and indicate why the remaining information is not available.
