One member of the House of Representatives shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and one member of the Senate shall be appointed by the President of the Senate.. Function: To consult with the Alaska Energy Authority as it develops eligibility criteria for grants from a renewable energy grant fund, develops methodology for determining the order of projects that may receive grants from that fund, and adopts regulations identifying criteria to evaluate the benefit and feasibility of projects seeking legislative support. The Advisory Committee will also consult with the Authority as the Authority makes recommendations to the legislature for renewable power production reimbursement grants and for projects that finance feasibility studies, reconnaissance studies, energy resource monitoring, and construction of renewable energy projects, natural gas projects, or transmission or distribution infrastructure located in Alaska. It will also consult with the Authority as the Authority prepares and submits within the first 10 days of each regular legislative session a report to the legislature summarizing, reviewing, and recommending in order of priority all applications submitted for grants under Chapter 31 SLA 08.
