BOARD MEETING MINUTES
October 6, 2011
Anchorage, Alaska
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Short called the meeting of the Alaska Energy Authority to order on October 6,
2011 at 1:12 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: BOARD MEMBERS
A quorum was established.
Members present: Hugh Short (Chairman); Ron Arvin (Public Member); Robert Sheldon
(Public Member); Susan Bell (Commissioner, Department of Commerce, Community, and
Economic Development); Wilson Hughes (Public Member).
Members present via telephone: Bryan Butcher (Commissioner, Department of Revenue).
Mr. Wilken was previously excused from this meeting.
3. AGENDA APPROVAL
Commissioner Bell moved for approval and Mr. Hughes seconded the motion. The agenda
was approved as presented.
4. ROLL CALL: STAFF, PUBLIC
Staff present in Anchorage: Sara Fisher -Goad (AEA Executive Director); Aaron Rhoades (HR
Administrator); Brian Bjorkquist (Department of Law); Shauna Howell (Executive Assistant);
May Clark (Administrative Assistant); Karin St. Clair (Administrative Assistant).

5. PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments.
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. Executive Session — Legislative Matters and Staff Recruitment
EXECUTIVE SESSION — 1:13 p.m.
The Board reconvened its regular meeting at 3:25 p.m.

7. DIRECTORS COMMENTS
October 6, 2011

A. Next scheduled AEA Board meeting — November 9, 2011 with an IPP work session
on November 10, 2011 (location to be determined).
8. BOARD COMMENTS
Mr. Arvin and Mr. Sheldon both indicated they had been in contact with members of the
public that were interested in participating in the November 10, 2011 IPP work session.
Mr. Hughes will be traveling on November 9, 2011 and he will participate via telephone. He
will be unavailable on November 10. 2011.
9. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business of the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 3:27 p.m.
