HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2003-02 Appointment Energy Policy Task ForceALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY RESOLUTION NO. 2003-02 RESOLUTION OF THE ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF A MEMBER TO THE ALASKA ENERGY POLICY TASK FORCE WHEREAS, the Alaska Legislature established the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force by passing SCS CSHCR 21 (FIN) during the 2003 legislative session; WHEREAS, the Alaska Legislature established the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force to review and analyze the state's current and long-term energy needs; to consider how best to incorporate state-owned Railbelt energy assets as part of the solution for the Railbelt's current and long-term electrical needs; to develop a long-term energy plan for Alaska that will efficiently enhance the state's economic future; and to accomplish other purposes; WHEREAS, the Alaska Legislature has directed that the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force report its findings regarding a Railbelt energy plan by December 31, 2003, and report its findings regarding energy plans for other areas of the state by March 31, 2004; WHEREAS, the Alaska Legislature has directed that the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force be composed of nine (9) members, one of which shall be selected from the directors of the Alaska Energy Authority (the "Authority") by the directors of the Authority; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and in the best interests of the State of Alaska and the Authority that the Authority appoint Mike Barry to be a member of the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Mike Barry is appointed to be a member of the Alaska Energy Policy Task Force pursuant to SCS CSHCR 21 (FIN).
