RESOLUTION OF THE ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY
RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS FOR ANNUAL AUDITS AND
OTHER RELATED SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to AS 44.83.900 the Alaska Energy Authority (the
"Authority") is required to have its financial records audited annually by a certified public
accountant; and
WHEREAS, the Authority's current contract with its independent outside auditor
expires on June 30, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the Authority has presented to the Board of Directors of
the Authority a proposed Request for Proposals for Annual Audits and Other Related
Services ("RFP"'), a copy of which is attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Authority has reviewed the RFP and
finds it to be in the best interest of the Authority that the RFP be issued; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Authority that a committee be created
to evaluate the proposals submitted pursuant to the RFP and report back to the Board
of Directors with recommendations as to the award of a contract or contracts pursuant
to the RFP.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ALASKA ENERGY
AUTHORITY AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Executive Director of the Authority be and hereby is
authorized, empowered, and directed to issue and release the RFP on behalf of the
Authority.
Section 2. That the Executive Director be and hereby is authorized and
empowered to amend or modify the RFP to the extent the Executive Director
determines that such amendments or modifications are necessary and in the best
interests of the Authority.
Section 3. That the Executive Director be and hereby is authorized,
empowered and directed to appoint an evaluation committee (the "Evaluation
Committee") to review proposals submitted pursuant to the RFP.
Section 4. That the Evaluation Committee shall adopt policies and
procedures for review of proposals submitted pursuant to the RFP and, to the extent
the Evaluation Committee deems it practical, shall adopt the procedures set forth in AS
36.30.230 through AS 36.30.250.
Section 5. That the Evaluation Committee shall report back to the Board of
Directors of the Authority with its recommendations regarding the award of a contract or
contracts pursuant to the RFP.
