A RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING FROM
Alaska Energy Authority - Renewable Energy Fund- Round 15
Atmautluak Tribal Utilities/Atmautluak Light Plant is requesting $577,000
in funds from AEA - REF Round 15 to be used for installation and
integration of a 500kW/713 kWh battery energy storage system and 30
electric thermal stoves, which are also storage units. This storage
capacity will optimize the performance of our wind hybrid energy system.
WHEREAS, Atmautluak Tribal Utilities is the only electric power
generation facility in the community and is owned by the Village of
Atmautluak in the State of Alaska, and has a duly elected governing
board of directors authorized to act on behalf of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Atmautluak has appointed the board of
directors for the Atmautluak Tribal Utilities/Atmautluak Light Plant to
manage the utility as a local, stand-alone, unregulated grid serving the
entire population of our community; and
WHEREAS, this project will add the capability to our utility system to
substantially reduce our use and the cost to our community of diesel
fuel; and
WHEREAS, Atmautluak received a grant of $2,918,882 from the USDA
High Energy Cost Program and offers this as match for our request to
AEA-REF Round 15; and
WHEREAS, Atmo Utility will provide additional funds as match by
providing local housing and transportation for contractors for their site
visits, local staff time for coordination, and $75,000 in funds to purchase
meters and related equipment; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Atmautluak Tribal Utilities is in good
standing with respect to its existing credit and federal tax obligations.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ATMAUTLUAK TRIBAL UTILITIES/ ATMAUTLUAK LIGHT PLANT REQUESTS
FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $577,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF:
