(907) 557-5616 Ph/Fax 557-5614 ATTN: Alaska Energy Authority January 12, 2022 Renewable Energy Fund – Round 14 RE: Funding request and match for turbine blades and design to integrate solar farm in wind- diesel-heat hybrid system. Thank you for the opportunity to submit Puvurnaq Power Company (PPC) application to the Renewable Energy Fund. As I believe you know we have 5 turbines, but only requested 2 last year because that was all we could locate to purchase. We greatly appreciate AEA’s award for those blade sets. Now we have found a new supplier/manufacturer, in Europe. Upgrading all of our turbines with the new blades sets will provide exceptional efficiencies to our community. We again offer the match of local wind tech labor to install the blade sets. In addition we are requesting funds for a final design to integrate solar into our wind-diesel-heat hybrid microgrid system. Adding solar will serve to increase diesel off to an even higher level for our community. Last year for the first time, residents installed and used air conditioners in the summer. As the General Manager: • I am the formal point of contact for our REF grant application. • I can commit Puvurnaq Power Company to the REF grant obligations. • I am committing a minimum of $13,500 of local labor to install the blade sets • I am the authorized individual to sign the application and have the authority to commit the Puvurnaq Power Company (to the REF grant obligations. • I certify that Puvurnaq Power Company is in compliance with applicable federal state and local laws including existing credit and federal tax obligations.
