Resolution 20-02
A RESOLUTION BY THE COMMUNITY OF ELFIN COVE ON THE RENEWABLE ENERGY FUND GRANT
WHEREAS, the community of Elfin Cove (CEC) desires assistance in funding the construction of the
hydroelectric project for the community; and,
WHEREAS, the current source of electricity from diesel generator at a cost of approximately $0.66 kWh
which is a significant cost to residents of Elfin Cove in relation to their household income.
WHEREAS, the community of Elfin Cove has filed the Final License Application (FLA) for the proposed
Crooked Creek and Jim’s Lake Hydro Project near Elfin Cove with the FERC in August 2020, through
Polarconsult; and,
WHEREAS, the community of Elfin Cove has demonstrated in multiple community meetings the support
of community members for the Hydro Project;
NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Community of Elfin Cove (the Board) agrees and affirms
the following:
1. The Board commits to providing the matching resources for the project as specified in the
grant application up to 25%; and,
2. The Board hereby authorizes Jim Wild to sign the grant application, and to commit CEC to the
obligations under the grant,
3. The Board designates Jim Wild as the point of contact to represent CEC for purposes of the
grant application,
4. The Board certifies that the CEC is in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws
including existing credit and federal tax obligations.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE Community of Elfin Cove on the 16th date of September 2020.
