RE: Letter of Support for Burro Creek Hydro Funding Application
Yukon Energy Corporation is Skagway’s Canadian renewable electricity friend.
We have a longstanding relationship with the Borough of Skagway and have
alignment between our 10-Year Renewable Electricity Plan and the Borough’s
2030 Comprehensive Plan.
We recognize the significance of a local renewable electricity project and the role
government plays in facilitating the development of these projects. Yukon’s 10-
Year Renewable Electricity Plan calls for 40 GWh of renewable electricity
generated annually by independent power producers by 2030.
In the interest of a renewable energy future and a potential intertie with Skagway,
we support Burro Creek Holdings’ application for a Renewable Energy Fund
Grant. We see the significant opportunity of a great renewable electricity project
being advanced by a capable proponent.
