To Whom It May Concern:
The Noorvik IRA Council supports the City of Noorvik's project to install two 10 kW PV systems one for the
City Building and one for the IRA Building.
The Noorvik IRA Council is focused on reducing our operational costs so that we can better afford to serve
our members. This energy project would serve as great example for our residents that we can work
together to achieve a more sustainable community. The Noorvik Comprehensive Plan has a top ten
priority list which Includes alternative energy development and implementation to help produce
electricity such as wind generation or solar power.
Noorvik has been working to find ways to reduce the cost of power and was awarded a wind project over
five years ago. This project still has not been constructed and there are concerns in the community that this
project will not become a reality for us. We would like to start projects that are more sustainable, easier to
maintain, and something that our people can be proud of and support.
Therefore, the Noorvik IRA Council supports this endeavor to install a PV array on our building that reduces
the cost of energy for our community.
