Dear Mr. Evans:
RECEIVED

EXECUTIVE OFFICE
On behalf of the City of Seward, I am expressing my strong support for Chugach's grant
application to partially fund the continued assessment of Fourth of July Creek as a
hydroelectric energy resource.
The proposed project has many advantages. It has the potential to provide clean,
renewable hydro energy for years to come, offsetting the use of fossil fuels and
increasing local reliability. Further, the project site is accessible and interconnection is
readily available due to the proximity to the local system.
The City of Seward appreciates the opportunity to work with Chugach Electric on this
project.
Please feel free to include my comments in support of the project with Chugach Electric's
grant application.
Sincerely,

Re: Chugach Electric Association's Renewable Energy Fund Grant Application
Dear Mr. Evans,
The Seward Chamber of Commerce, CVB is supportive of Chugach's grant application to partially
fund the continued assessment of Fourth of July Creek as a hydroelectric energy resource.
The Seward Chamber Board of Directors supports the joint efforts of Chugach Electric and the
City of Seward to develop a local project that will provide the ongoing benefits of clean,
renewable energy, including reduced reliance on fossil fuels as an energy source. Because other
benefits will include increased reliability from the additional energy source, as well as the jobs
that will result from construction and maintenance of the new project, we view this exciting
project as beneficial to the entire Seward community.
Please feel free to include my comments in support of the project with Chugach Electric
Association's grant application. Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Fourth of July Creek Hydroelectric Project
Dear Mr. Evans:
On behalf of the Alaska SeaLife Center, I am expressing our strong support for
Chugach's grant application to partially fund the continued assessment of Fourth of July
Creek as a hydroelectric energy resource.
As one of the largest electricity purchasers in Seward and an example of renewable
technology at work with our seawater heat pump system, we see the proposed project as
having many advantages. It has the potential to provide clean, renewable hydro energy
for years to come, offsetting the use of fossil fuels. The increased reliability would give
us greater security.
Please feel free to include my comments in support of the project with Chugach Electric's
grant application.
Sincerely,
Tara L. Riemer, Ph.D.

Re: Chugach's Renewable Energy Fund Grant Application
Dear Mr. Evans:
The Alternative Energy Group is supportive of Chugach's grant application to partially
fund the continued assessment of Fourth of July Creek as a hydroelectric energy resource.
The group has been tasked by Seward City Council to discuss, plan and promote ideas
that reduce the reliance on fossil fuel and reduce the carbon footprint by Seward and local
residence. We support Chugach's and the City of Seward's joint efforts to develop a
local project that will provide the ongoing benefits of clean, renewable energy, including
reduced reliance on fossil fuels as an energy source. Other benefits include increased
reliability from another source of energy supply and the commitment to continue the
reduction of carbon fuel sources.
Please feel free to include my comments in support of the project with Chugach Electric's
grant application.
Sincerely,
