To Whom it May Concern,
As the Advisory School Council of Naukati School, we write this letter in support of Southeast Island
School District's application for funding for a GARN wood heating system for the school. This would
provide a significant cost savings as opposed to the diesel fuel that the district currently has to buy in
order to heat the school. The need to move away from ever increasing and costly fossil fuels that
have to be transported from offsite is becoming a necessity for the school as well as the community.
The cord wood is cut locally and provides the community with much needed employment as well as
revenue. We fully support this decision and are excited at the opportunity that this would bring to our
school, and our community.
