To Whom it May Concern;
we are writing to shown our support for Hydaburg City School District's application for a heat
energy grant from the Alaska Energy Authority. This project involves placing cord wood -fired
boilers at the fiydaburg City Schools in Hydaburg, AID on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast
Alaska. The district intends to use wood biomass to heat the school buildings, replacing diesel as
the energy soLuce. The project involves placing two Garn wood fired boilers adjacent to the gym
site and two Garn wood -fired boilers adjacent to the elementary school site, Underground pipes
from the wood -fixed boiler to plumb into the school's heating system. Switching to a biomass
system of renewable fuel will encourage small business opportunities for providing firewood to
the district. In short, we fully support this application for replacing systems reliant on fossil fuels
to a system proven to be efficient, non-polluting, and sustainable.
