Resolution
AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF MINTO TO SEEK AND APPLY FOR WOOD BIOMASS
CONSTRUCTION FOR THE MINTO LODGE AND CLINIC IN MINTO, ALASKA
WHEREAS: The Minto Traditional Council is a federally recognized Tribe and is the governing
body of the community of Minto, Alaska; and
WHEREAS: The Minto Village Council has been awarded a $200,000 CIP Grant for the purpose
of renovating the interior and exterior of the Minto Multi -Purpose Building; and
WHEREAS: The Minto Village Council gives permission to use $100,000 of these funds for the
purpose of a match for this AEA Round VI Grant,
WHEREAS: The Minto Village Council gives permission to utilize its 2001 Chevy Cheyanne
truck for the purpose of hauling cordwood for the biomass energy project, at an in -kind value of
$11,000,
WHEREAS: The Minto Village Council commits to $5,000 of administrative time in -kind to
provide project monitoring over the 10 year duration of project monitoring,
WHEREAS: The Minto Village Council commits to $5,000 of personnel time in -kind to help
complete the harvest and operations plan,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Minto Traditional Council authorizes the application
for Alaska Energy Authority Renewable Energy Grant Program (Round VII) to design and
construct a biomass wood boiler system for the Clinic and Lodge,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minto Traditional Council hereby grant authorization to
commit the matching funds described above;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minto Traditional Council certifies that the Village of Minto
is in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws including credit and tax
obligations.
CERTIFICATION
The foregoing resolution was adopted at a dully called and convened meeting of the Minto
Traditional Council on September'G77, 2013, -4- voting yes and _voting no and
abstained.
