It is my pleasure to write this letter of support for NEA as they apply to the Renewable
Energy Fund Grant Program. A successful application will provide a means to complete the
Stack Heat to Power Project, a project that is important to our school district.
As a priority user of NEA's recaptured heat system our school district depends heavily on this
resource to heat our school in an efficient manner. Our 80,000+ sq. ft. facility is difficult to
heat and any efficiency or improvement in NEA's system helps us in this effort.
Recovery of the stack heat will help increase the temperature of the overall system. This
increased temperature is especially important as NEA recently installed newer, more efficient
generators that produce lower temperatures for their recaptured heat system. Our schools have
already felt the negative impact of decreased temperatures, especially during the cold winter
months.
Another important aspect of the project is the stabilization of electricity costs. Our district
spends an inordinate amount of our budget on electricity. The Stack Heat to Power project
would help keep these costs from rising and that would allow us to maintain our instructional
program.
Our school district strongly supports projects that help us provide a clean, comfortable, safe
and affordable education for our students. We are pleased to have NEA as a partner in
education and hope that you will consider their proposal as the highest of priorities for
funding.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you would like more specific information that
might help in your consideration of NEA's application.
Sincerely,
N =R-1/1 /
