Energy Fund Program Letter of Support.
Dear Mrs. Vukich,
Bristol Bay Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (BBTC) is a member owned cooperative telecommunications
utility with basically the same membership makeup as that of Naknek Electric Association, Inc. (NEA). As
a cooperative in a small rural community, it is imperative that we pursue every means possible to ensure
our members have, not only, a stable, reliable utility, but also at a price that they can afford. As
management it is our duty to research, develop and pursue any means available to meet these goals.
NEA management has done their due diligence in finding an opportunity to greatly increase their
electrical capacity without an increase in fuel costs or carbon footprint. BBTC, as not only a fellow
cooperative but also as a member and consumer of NEA, applaud their foresight in using technology to
arrive at a viable solution. That solution is to convert stack heat from their present generators to
increase electricity production without adding extra fossil fuel usages. To BBTC this is a win/win
situation for all consumers in the Bristol Bay Borough.
Bristol Bay Telephone Cooperative strongly supports Naknek Electric Association in their Stack heat to
Power Project proposal and hopes that the Renewable Energy Fund Program sees the importance of this
project to provide reliable, consistent and affordable electric power to the residents of the Bristol Bay
Borough.
Sincerely,
J
