Nenana Traditional Council
Resolution 2012-0015
Reduce Energy Costs for the District, City, and Tribe.
WHEREAS, the Nenana Traditional Council supports the Nenana City School District's
desires to reduce the District's energy costs in order to provide a maximum amount of
funding for education purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Nenana Traditional Council supports the Nenana City School District's
desired to utilize altemative/renewable fuels to produce the energy resources necessary
for school district operations, and
WHEREAS, the Nenana Traditional Council has a positive history of working
cooperatively with the City of Nenana, the Nenana City School District, and other
community entities on projects that benefit the community as a whole, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Nenana Native Council recommends
the City of Nenana and the Nenana City School District to the Alaska Energy Authority
for a "Final Design and Permitting" grant for the building of a wood chip boiler heating
system to serve the Nenana City Public School, the Nenana City School District
Administration Building, the Nenana City School District Warehouse Building, the
Nenana Student Living Center, the Nenana City Water Plant Building, the Nenana Fire
Department Building, and the Youth Educational Resource Center, and
DULY ADOPTED, this 18°i day of September 2012.
CERTIFICATION
This certifies that the above resolution was duly adopted at a convened meeting of the
Nenana Tribal Council at which time a quorum was present. This resolution was adopted
by a vote of2for, and 0against, withffabstaining.
