Dear Mr. Calfa,
Please accept this letter of support for the "Nenana Collaborative Biomass Heating System
Project" application being submitted by the Nenana City School District in collaboration with
the City of Nenana and the Nenana Native Council.
I have lived and worked in the Nenana area for 36 years. My children and now grandchildren
are going to the Nenana City Public School. I am currently manager at a local business. This
project would benefit and have a tremendous impact on everyone in this community.
Following are some of the reasons that I support this project:
• Reducing energy costs at the school would enable more funds to be used for
educational purposes
• Want to use alternative and renewable sources of energy that will help us reduce our
dependence on oil
• The economic benefit to the school, city and Native Council
• Provide much needed local employment to the area
• Help manage the forests that surround Nenana and mitigate the danger of spreading
wildfires
• A project that benefits the local economy will benefit the local business that I manage
Please give favorable consideration to Nenana's biomass grant application. Thank you for your
