Dear SirIMadarn,
Re: Support for Kenai Peninsula Borough School District - Seward Schools Biomass
Heating System Feasibility Study
This letter is to express our support for the Seward Schools Biomass Heating Systems
project.
The escalating costs of heating fuel make renewable energy options increasingly
attractive, especially to schools and other public buildmgs. As you know, we are
interested in the potential for cost savings and cost stability, along with the economic,
social and environmental benefits of using more localized and renewable fuels for heat.
We strongly support the School District in applying for a grant from Alaska Energy
Authority through the Renewable Energy Fund Round V, to conduct a Feasibility Study
on the use of biomass heating systems for the Seward schools.
The Alaska SeaLife Center has worked closely with the Alaska Energy Authority to
develop and install a new heating system using renewable energy. We greatly value your
leadership in making these opportunities available and commend you for your ongoing
support to promote renewable energy use in Alaska.
Sincerely,
7-g-9-
