AEA is pleased to commit the remaining $4,855,317 as cash cost share for KI's application to OCED's Energy Improvement in Rural or Remote Areas - DE-FOA-0002970. AEA fully supports KI's application for additional DOE funding as needed to construct this important hydroelectric project which will supply reliable, renewable power to the remote community of Angoon. AEA is a public corporation of the State of Alaska with the mission to reduce the cost of energy in Alaska. AEA is the state's energy office and lead agency for statewide energy policy and program development. Whether building modern and code -compliant bulk fuel tank farms, upgrading to high -efficiency generators in rural powerhouse systems or integrating renewable energy projects, AEA emphasizes community -based project management. AEA's core programs work to diversify Alaska's energy portfolio, lead energy planning and policy, invest in Alaska's energy infrastructure, and provide rural Alaska with technical and community assistance. For many decades, the Alaska Energy Authority has been assisting rural Alaskan villages across the state with diesel and renewable energy projects ranging from hydro, biomass, wind and solar to diesel emissions and bulk tank farm projects. AEA's success in AEA's mission is to reduce the cost of energy in Alaska. To that end, AEA works with nearly every community in the state, delivering solutions that improve energy safety, reliability and afford ability. This project will provide year round clean energy to the community of Angoon, reduce diesel fuel use, improve air quality, and provide power at significantly lower rates. Regards, Z E4, . Curtis W.
