YourCleanEnergy LLC Energy Audits & Clean Energy Consulting Services
YourCleanEnergy LLC is working successfully with businesses, municipalities and institutions to
reduce their fossil fuel use and to make cost effective investments in clean energy production.
Based in Anchorage, Alaska, the firm was officially incorporated in January 2006 and is leading
the emerging clean energy economy in Alaska by continuously developing new methods to
serve this fast changing market. YourCleanEnergy has implemented proven methods of
financial evaluation that build investor confidence and often lead to timely installation of energy
efficient materials and equipment, and renewable energy production systems. Key projects
recently completed include:
Bayview Commercial Building – Comprehensive Energy Audit – Completed 2009
The Bayview Commercial Building has a total of 107,000 square feet of internal area divided
among three floors. Primary tenants include Conoco Philips, Otis Elevator and the State of
Alaska. A comprehensive audit by YourCleanEnergy identified potential annual savings of more
than $18,000 for improvements with payback of five years or less. The owner is pursuing these
improvements in order of payback for maximum return on investment.
Alaska Sealife Center – Sea Water Heat Pump Evaluation – Completed 2009
The Alaska Sealife Center is the largest marine aquarium in the state of Alaska and was
constructed with a heating oil fired boiler system. They secured the services of
YourCleanEnergy in January 2009 to evaluate the financial return of using seawater as a source
of heat that can be lifted to a usable temperature for building heat with the use of electricity
powered heat pumps. Three alternatives were identified and the preferred alternative
incorporates two heat pumps that reduce heating oil usage by 85% with a payback of 10.6
years. Alaska Sealife Center is now securing grant funding for this project.
Ionia Community Wood Boiler/Solar Thermal System – Solar Thermal System Evaluation
& Design – Completed 2008
The Ionia Community of 25 persons in Kasilof, Alaska installed two high efficiency GARN wood
boilers in 2007 and they secured YourCleanEnergy in 2008 to design a solar thermal array that
would eliminate the need to fire the boilers in summer months. A flat plate solar thermal array
was designed for installation on the existing boiler building metal roof, along with tube and shell
heat exchanger, controls and piping connections to the existing boiler. The owner installed the
system in May 2009 and the solar heating from the panels has allowed them to avoid a wood
burn through the entire summer months, leaving this wood supply available for winter heating.
