RESOLUTION #09-14-10-01
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING KWIG POWER COMPANY TO PURSUE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO
ACHIEVE MAXIMUM WIND PENETRATION FROM THEIR WIND-DIESEL PROJECT.
WHEREAS:The Native Village of Kwigillingok is the governing body of Kwigillingok,
Alaska,and
WHEREAS:The Kwigillingok Tribal Council is a federally recognized Tribal Governing Body
for the Native Village of Kwigillingok,and
WHEREAS:the Kwig Power Company is a certified electric utility serving Kwigillingok,
governed by a Board of Directors,and
WHEREAS:Alaska Energy Authority is soliciting applications for the Renewable Energy
Fund Round 4 for funding for renewable energy projects around the state of Alaska;and
WHEREAS:The Native Village of Kwigillingok desires to increase the energy efficiency of
the local power plant,tribal homes and community buildings,while reducing the fossil fuel
requirement and have acquired funding for a high-penetration wind diesel system to achieve that
goal,and
WHEREAS:The Native Village of Kwigillingok endeavors to pursue funding from the
Renewable Energy Fund Round 4 to further supplement their existing funding in order to
purchase and install systems for greater load stability and higher penetration diesel fuel
displacement,and
WHEREAS:The Native Village of Kwigillingok and Kwig Power Company commit to
providing the matching resources indicated in the application to the Renewable Energy Fund
Found 4.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Native Village of Kwigillingok hereby
supports the Kwig Power Company's application to the Renewable Energy Fund of Alaska and
it's efforts to cooperate and coordinate these energy projects with the Chaninik Wind Group,and
authorize William Jgkurak,Kwig Power Company General Manager to represent them as an
applicant for their efforts to apply for,secure,and obtain funding to install systems to
supplement their wind/diesel system.
BE IT FURTI:-IER RESOLVED THAT the Kwig Power Company is in good standing with
respect to its existing credit and federal tax obligations.
