HomeMy WebLinkAbout5 - Kong ResolutionNATIVE VILLA GE OF KONGIGANAK RESOLUTION 10-09-06 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUVURNAQ POWER COMPANY TO PURSUE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO ACHIEVE MAXIMUM WIND PENETRATION FROM THEIR WIND -DIESEL PROJECT. WHEREAS: The Kongiganak Traditional Council is the governing body for the Native Village of Kongiganak, a federally recognized Tribal entity in the State of Alaska, and; WHEREAS: The Kongiganak Traditional Council provides electrical utility services to the community d.b.a. Puvurnaq Power Company, and; WHEREAS: Alaska Energy Authority is soliciting applications for the Renewable Energy Fund Round 4 for funding for renewable energy projects around the state of Alaska and WHEREAS: Puvurnaq Power Company desires to increase the energy efficiency of the local power plant, tribal homes and community buildings, while reducing the fossil fuel requirement, and have acquired funding to achieve that goal; and WHEREAS: Puvurnaq Power Company endeavors to pursue funding from the Renewable Energy Fund Round 4 to pursue renewable energy solutions WHEREAS: Puvurnaq Power Company commits to providing the matching resources indicated in the application to the Renewable Energy Fund Found 4, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Native Village of Kongiganak hereby supports the Puvurnaq Power Company's application to the Renewable Energy Fund of Alaska and its efforts to cooperate and coordinate these energy projects with the Chaninik Wind Group, and authorize Harvey B. Paul, Puvurnaq Power Company General Manager to represent them as an applicant for their efforts to apply for, secure, and obtain funding to supplement their wind/diesel system. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Puvurnaq Power Company is in good standing with respect to its existing credit and federal tax obligations. CERTIFICATION This resolution was passed and approved by the Koppi weak Traditional Cowlcil on this loth day of September , 2010of which a quorum was established, mth a vote of -5 (Yes) and Q (No) and (Abstaining).
