RESOLUTION 17-2010
WHEREAS; The City of Port Heiden is a Second-Class City in the State of Alaska, and,
WHEREAS; The City of Port Heiden is the owner and operator of the electric utility for the City
of Port Heiden, and,
WHEREAS; The ever-increasing cost of diesel fuel has increased the price of electricity to $.75
per kWh, and,
WHEREAS; The price of electricity meets the Energy Information Agency's Extremely High
Cost Energy benchmark of 275 %,
WHEREAS; The City of Port Heiden seeks to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and seek
out sources of renewable energy, and,
NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the City of Port Heiden provides its approval for
the Lake and Peninsula Borough to act on behalf of the City of Port Heiden for the submission of
its grant to the Alaska Energy Authority Renewable Energy Fund Round IV program.
