Bldg. #26, IVC Office/Warehouse: This is a 40’ X 60’ steel building with offices on the first and second floor are at one end. The other end is used for warehouse space. The boiler is a System 2000, model EF-2F, up to 200 MBH output and is connected to a fuel tank on the exterior. The warehouse has two (2) unit heaters and the offices have baseboard. The heating pump is Taco, Model 001-BFD with two zone valves. The HGS/R piping from the wood boiler will be connected to the existing hydronic heating system. B. Bldg. #26A, IVC Shop: The shop building does not have any offices. It is heated by a Weil McLain Gold boiler and the piping goes to radiant floor heat. In addition, a waste oil heater is also used. It is an Energy Logic, Model EL-200H and is wall-mounted, 8’ AFF. The HGS/R piping from the wood boiler will be connected to the existing hydronic heating system only. C. Unheated Shed: The unheated shed is used for storage. This building will be provided with heat from the wood boiler as well as oil fired backup heat. The backup oil heaters are not included in the economic analysis. D. Wood Boiler \ Wood Shed: One wood boiler will supply all three (3) buildings. The heat from the wood boiler will be delivered via arctic pipe. The wood shed will have storage capacity for 60% of the annual wood demand. Its roof will extend over the boiler and operating area. The wood boiler and shed will be secured by a 6’ high chain link fence. Economically, this option has a slower payback since there are three (3) arctic pipe connections between wood boiler and buildings. Further, hydronic heating equipment needs to be provided for the currently unheated shed. Also, two (2) connections to existing heating systems including heat exchanger, piping, etc. are needed.
