OF KWEMLUK.
WHBRBA.S, The Organized Village of kwethluk (OVK)/ Kwethluk Indian Reorganization Act: Council
(Kwethluk !RA Council) is an Indian Chartered organization as defined by the Indian Reorganization
Act of )nne 18, 1934 and the Act of May 1, 1936, extending certain provisions of the farmer Act to
Alaska: and under it charter, constitution and briaws has full authority to act in the following:
WINERMS, OVK and the Kwethluk IRA Council is the Tribal Governing Authority for Kw+etWuk
established W 1934 and ratified on January 11,1940 and is recognized in the Federal Register, and
WHEREAS, under the OVK Constitution and by-laws, the Tribal Council Is charged with the duty of
protecting the health. security and general welfare of the Tribe and it's membership; aind

WHEREAS, Ih an eflort to reduce petroleum use and emission, and,
WHEREAS. To Increase energy eiilcl*ncy by exploring wind energy technology, and,
THEREWORE, BE IT RISOLVED by theOVK that the Tribe shall undertake a Kwethiuk Wind
Feasibility Analysis, Resources Assessment, and Conceptual Design for a poteWal wind Sys" in
Kwethluk.
THBREFORB, BE IT RESOLVED the dV K supports the purposed further development of local
capability to provide energy efficiency and conservation smices, thus reducing dependence on
outside influences and preserving our Tribal saver lgnly.

process and will be provided at community meetings a full explanation of the ANA Round TV Grant
Application, how it will be developed and implemented;

to the Alaska Energy Authority (Round M for funds to conduct the Wind Feasibility Analysis.
