RESOLUTION 10-04 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RENEWABLE ENERGY GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE PROPOSED SILVER LAKE PROJECT WHEREAS, Copper Valley Electric Association is a rural electric cooperative organized under Alaska Statute 10.25; and WHEREAS, CVEA provides central station electric service to the Copper River Basin and Valdez regions of Alaska; and WHEREAS, CVEA has a strong desire to reduce its dependence on fossil fuel for the production of electricity; and WHEREAS, CVEA maintains an interest in developing renewable energy to better serve its membership; and WHEREAS, the CVEA Board of Directors authorized the prefeasibility study on July 16, 2009, to study the hydropower potential of the Silver Lake Hydroelectric Project; and WHEREAS, CVEA filed a preliminary permit application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on April 16, 2010; and WHEREAS, CVEA is in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws including existing credit and federal tax obligations; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, the CVEA Board of Directors approves the authorization to file a grant application for the Silver Lake Hydroelectric Project; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the CVEA Board of Directors approves the application for project funding in the amount of $850,000.00; including a CVEA match of 25%; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the CVEA Board of Directors authorizes Robert A. Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer, as the point of contact to represent the applicant for purposes of this application. Approved and signed this 10"' day of September 2010, in Glennallen, Alaska. r.
