A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AVCP HOUSING WIND TURBINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, The Association of Village Council Presidents Regional Housing Authority (AVCP RHA) is
the Tribally Designated Housing Entity for 49 of the 57 Tribes under NAHASDA within
the AVCP Region; and
WHEREAS, The State of Alaska/Alaska Energy Authority has announced a grant application period
under the AEA Round IV cycle, with deadline for submittals set for Sept. 3, 2010; and
WHEREAS, AVCP Housing desires to apply for AEA funding for development of a wind turbine
project in Bethel that would help reduce energy costs for operations of AVCP Housing,
the Bethel Low Rent Apartment project, and the Lulu Herron Congregate Housing; and
WHEREAS, The savings produced by the wind turbine project would result in additional funding by
AVCP Housing for more housing projects in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, and in such
way the AVCP Housing Wind Turbine Project would be beneficial to the tribes of the
AVCP Region.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Board of Commissioners is in support of the AVCP Wind
Turbine Project and directs the President/CEO or his designee UZUubmit an AEA Round IV grant
application for development of the wind turbine project in Bethel.
CERTIFICATION
The foregoing resolution was passed by the Board of Commissioners of the Association of Village Council
Presidents Regional Housing Authorityduly called meeting where a quorum was present, this 26th
day of August, 2010, by a vote of 5 ayes, �Q - nays and --D7 abstaining.
