TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;
I am writing to support a hydro generation project in the Jack River Canyon near
Cantwell. I would encourage the Alaska Energy Authority to work closely with the Native
Village of Cantwell and AHTNA Inc. to explore the potential for some type of electric
generation facility which would be located east of the Parks Highway.
Two years ago several representatives of the Native Village, AEA, and the Denali
Borough gathered in Cantwell to look at reference maps for potential sites and we also did a site
visit to the Jack River. I believe that we all felt that this area may very well be a significant part
of an energy plan for the interior of Alaska.
