A RESOLUTION OF THE ATKA CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVETM I
APPLICATION OF A GRANT TO THE ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY FOR THE
RENEWABLE ENERGY FUND GRANT RECOMBMNDATION PROGRAM ROUND
in.
WHEREAS, the City of Atka has been involved in the development of the Atka Hydro -
Electric Project since 1994; and
WHEREAS, priority of the City of Atka and residents of the community has been the
construction of a hydro -electric system; and
WHEREAS, the City of. Atka and EDA and AEA are currently involved in completing the
building of a hydro energy praject at Atka, Alaska; and
WHEREAS, the City of Atka is eligible to apply for the AEA Renewable Energy Fund Crant
Recommendation Program Round III; and
'WHEREAS, the City of Atka is in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws,
including existing credit and federal tax obligations; and
WHEREAS, the Atka City Council authorizes submission of a grant application in the
amount not to exceed $350,000.00 to AEA for a Dispatchable Hydro Power system; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Atka City Council authorizes the
match amounts indicated in the grant application at of the total awarded sure.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Administrator and/or Mayor are authorized
to act on behalf of the City of Atka on matters related to this grant.
