Dear Walt:
I hope all is well with you. I am pleased to hear that the City of Homer is continuing to
seek funding to study the potential for tidal -powered energy in Kachemak Bay. The
proposed project has the potential to benefit all the communities of the region, including
Seldovia. The City of Seldovia supports the project and hopes to work with you and
other project partners on reconnaissance and feasibility tasks if funding is secured.
It does not seem far-fetched to think that a tidal project in Kachemak Bay could serve as
a model for projects of a similar nature in other parts of Alaska or the world. We will be
waiting to hear whether your application for funding is successful and wish you the best
of luck.
