RE: Participation in Kachemak Bay Tidal Energy Feasibility Study Proposal
To Whom It May Concern:
Ocean Renewable Power Company, Alaska ("ORPC") would like to express its support for the
City of Homer's Kachemak Bay Tidal Energy Feasibility Study Proposal to be submitted to the
Alaska Energy Authority's Renewable Energy Fund Round 3. As a developer of tidal energy
technology and projects, ORPC understands the essential value of this proposal as it will
illuminate the tidal potential at various sites in Kachemak Bay to inform the feasibility of any
future tidal energy development in the area.
ORPC will support the project through providing consultation services. ORPC agrees to offer a
cost share of $1800 in time donated to this effort and is prepared to be contracted for $5400 to
complete this consultation work.
ORPC feels that this proposal is an excellent opportunity to bring together public institutions and
private companies to execute a project that will serve all parties involved and has the potential to
stimulate the development of tidal energy projects in Kachemak Bay.
We look forward to collaborating with the City of Homer and the other project partners on this
effort.
