RE: Letter of Support for Chugach Electric Association's Grant Application,
Transmission Line Routing & Design in Support of Regional Geothermal Resource
Development, AEA Requests for Grants Applications AEA10-015,
Renewable Energy Fund Program, Round III
Dear Mr. White:
Homer Electric Association (HEA) supports Chugach Electric Association's (CEA) Round III
grant application that seeks to perform preliminary routing and design of a transmission line that
would bring renewable geothermal energy from Mt. Spurr to the Railbelt grid.
HEA recognizes Mt. Spurr geothermal energy as a regional -scale resource and believes that
would benefit all Railbelt utility members. HEA suggests that preliminary transmission line
engineering and alignment studies are a timely and prudent use of State funds in preparing to
develop this resource.
Sincerely,
Bradley P. Janorschke
