Resolution
In Support of the Ionia Community
Renewable Energy Training Center Project
The undersigned Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Alaska Mental Health Trust
Authority (The Trust) hereby certifies that the following resolution was duly adopted by
the Board of Directors on ___________________;
Whereas, The Trust, an Alaska state corporation dedicated to assisting Alaskans who
experience behavioral health issues, agrees to act as grantee/sponsor for an
application to the Alaska Energy Authority, Renewable Energy Fund Grant
Application Round III, RFA-10-015, for the Ionia Renewable Energy Training
Center Project and
Whereas, The Trust recognizes Ionia, Inc. as an entity that has operated for twenty years
as a therapeutic community centered on increasing the health of its members
through an active lifestyle that focuses on social, agricultural, and
environmentally sound practices and
Whereas, The Trust understands that in order to continue its mission, Ionia, Inc. will need
a facility devoted to the public education of renewable energy technologies
appropriate for the local area; that this facility would provide a conference center,
offices, and storage area for demonstration and training and
Whereas, The Trust has agreed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding that
stipulates that Ionia, Inc. will manage and operate the project and will provide the
grant award matching funds and resources, as described in the grant application
and
Whereas, The Trust is a governmental entity that is in compliance with all applicable
federal, state, and local laws, including existing credit and federal tax obligations;
therefore be it
Resolved, that The Trust CEO is authorized to sign any contracts, forms, or letters of
commitment on behalf of The Trust as grantee/sponsor for the Ionia Community
Renewable Energy Training Center Project application. Ted Eller, from Ionia,
Inc., will serve as the Project Manager and primary point of contact for the
purposes of this application and all correspondence regarding this grant
application should be directed to the Project Manager at (907) 262-2824.
