RE: St. Paul Wind for Schools
To Whom It May Concern:
St. Paul Island has a world -class wind resource. Our community has some experience with wind energy.
There are three utility sized Vestas wind turbines that provide electricity and heat to an Industrial
complex owned by TDX Corporation at the a irpgrt.
The students at our school have shown a lot of interest in wind energy by making model wind turbines
in the classroom and experimenting with blade designs as past science projects.
This exciting hands-on project with a real working wind turbine will provide an invaluable teaching tool
to reach and inspire students with non-traditional learning styles as well as mainstream students.
Additionally, it will open a door to even more science projects and meaningful discussions on social and
environmental issues in relation to energy.
We, the undersigned, are 100% behind the Wind for Schools project in St. Paul.
