Bose, Secretary Nathaniel J. Davis, Sr., Deputy Secretary Federal Energy Regulatory Commission 888 First Street, N.E. Washington, DC 20426 RE: Copper Valley Electrical Association's Preliminary Permit Application for Silver Lake. Dear Ms. Bose and Mr. Davis; I am writing on behalf of The Tatitlek Corporation, which owns the surface rights to lands adjacent to and downstream of the proposed Silver Lake hydroelectric site. Copper Valley Electrical Association has contacted The Tatitlek Corporation about its intent to apply for a preliminary permit and conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the possibility of building a hydroelectric plant at the site. The Tatitlek Corporation supports granting a preliminary permit to Copper Valley Electrical Association, and is willing to work with the energy utility as it studies the site. The corporation understands that such studies will require access to our lands for conducting surveys and for placement of testing monitors. At this time The Tatitlek Corporation believes such access and development could be compatible with its uses of the lands. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Lloyd Allen, Chairmen of the Board of Directors The Tatitlek Corporation
