The City of Delta Junction would like to lend full support for the Delta/Greely
School District wood fired boiler to be used at the Delta High School.I applaud
your effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuel and utilize a renewable resource.
Wood is abundant in the Tanana Valley on State,Federal,and private land,
so the local industry has the ability to provide wood for fuel.This project
may increase business opportunities for the timber industry,create
employment opportunities,and other unforeseen benefits may occur.
It makes sense to use wood (a renewable resource)and reduce dependence
on fossil fuel (a non-renewable resource).It is an ecological benefit for all
concerned.This project has the possibility of being a model for other public
and private facilities that desire to reduce heating fuel consumption.The
City of Delta Junction endorses your effort to lead our community in this
bio-fuel project.
