To Whom It May Concern:
The Salcha-Delta Soil and Water Conservation District would like to write this letter of
support for including a greenhouse in conjunction with the new heating system at the
Delta High School.
Addition of a greenhouse would benefit students by providing them projects in natural
resource management,providing the school with fresh vegetables,and opportunities for
student fundraising activities.The benefits of adding such a program to the school will
pay dividends for many years to come.It could also open up opportunities for adult
education.
As local food production efforts develop statewide,this project will provide a model for
other school production efforts,which can be supported by legislation.Please support this
project to utilize excess heat from the biomass heating system to enrich the educational
opportunities for the Delta area.SinC?#~
