Superintendant, Delta/Greely School District

Dear Dr. Ford Slack:
I wish to extend my appreciation and congratulations to the Delta/Greely School District as it embarks
upon its project to pursue renewable energy heating and an impressive weatherization process. We
believe that the successful completion of this project will enhance the comfort and safety of the students
who attend Delta/Greely School district as well as the many community groups that use your building.
We know that the Delta High School Complex serves as a "mustering" location for the City of Delta and
the greater Deltana Area. It is critical to the community to ensure that there is heat at this location.
We applaud the school district's effort to be our community's leader in reducing dependence on fossil
fuel use. This project will use the abundant supply of wood in the Tanana Valley. It supports economic
development in our area by establishing "greener" business opportunities. Best of all it provides a living
example to your students on safe guarding Alaska's resources for the future.
This project has the potential to be a model for other public and private facilities that desire to reduce
heating fuel consumption or to provide an alternative source for heating.
Sincerely,
.. .-
