Dear Mr. Johnson;
I am writing this letter in support of your proposal entitled ‘ORPC Cook Inlet Tidal
Energy Project’. As you know, we are very excited about the opportunities for
hydrokinetic devices in Alaska. Cook Inlet is one of the premier sites in the world for
tidal energy, and we support the leadership role ORPC is playing in developing the
technology to harness this resource.
We also hope that your project, which includes the University of Alaska Anchorage, will
serve as an opportunity to foster greater collaboration between Anchorage and Fairbanks
researchers. As you know, the Alaska Center for Energy and Power is intended to
integrate applied energy research throughout the University system and your company,
by working directly with several researchers across multiple academic units, can serve to
strengthen these internal relationships.
Sincerely,
Gwen Holdmann
