The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation (AFDC) supports the Cook Inlet
Tidal Energy Project and particularly your efforts in securing a grant to move the project
forward.
The goal of this project is to provide diversification of energy production through the
utilization of an abundant free resource through the use of an environmentally benign
technology. This project is crucial for development and implementation of affordable
energy solutions and could be used as a model for future tidal energy related projects.
Finally, this project will help Anchorage by creating new energy industry job
opportunities and by providing more affordable energy to Alaska and offer increased
opportunities for commerce throughout Alaska.
