Alaska Energy Authority 813 West Northern Lights Boulevard Anchorage, Alaska 99503-2495 Attn: Renewable Energy Fund Grant Program: Seward Peninsula Geothemal Assessment Program Proposal Dear Review Panel: The Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC) respectfully submits the enclosed application for grant funds available through the Renewable Energy Fund Grant Program. AVEC has worked together with NANA Pacific to develop a proposal for a resource assessment/feasibility analysis/conceptual design project of geothermal sites on the Seward Peninsula region. The goal of the program is to ascertain the feasibility of geothermal power generation for regional communities and develop conceptual design documents/reports for geothermal generation on the Seward Peninsula. This project has considerable support from villages and corporations in the region. AVEC is seeking $4,301,950 from AEA under this proposal. Matches would be provided from AVEC ($50,000), NANA ($80,000), and Kawerak ($15,000). Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Petrie of my staff if you have questions.
