Jill Reese is the only member of, and the authorized point of contact for, the Alaska corporation HPML LLC, and WHEREAS, HPML LLC owns the real property located on U.s. Survey 3105, commonly known as Motherlode Lodge in Hatcher Pass, Alaska, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of HPML LLC to be an example of sustainability, to reduce its carbon footprint, to provide educational and recreational opportunities to the public, to preserve an important component of the Hatcher Pass area's gold mining history and to provide a base for operations concerning life and safety concerns of the public, and provide sales of power to the local utility, MEA, for the public benefit and WHEREAS, fuel costs are rising and unstable, and the lodge may not be able to continue to exist or operate without a stable affordable power utility, and WHEREAS, no power utility is available from any other source, including the public utility, for the lodge's utilization, and WHEREAS, jobs would be lost, if the lodge closed and WHEREAS, HPML LLC is in compliance with all federal, state, and local law, including existing credit and federal obligations. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED on this 8th day of October, 2008, by the sole member of HPML LLC: That it is the intent of HPML LLC to apply for a grant from the Alaska Energy Authority in the amount of $600,000.00 for the purpose of building a 50 kW run of the river hydro electric power plant, known as the "Delia Creek Alternative Energy Project" for generating power to operate the lodge and providing the State of Alaska , with power to its public parking lot.
