An office was opened in the Portland area in 1998, followed by offices in Boise, Idaho, Santa Clara, California, Albany, New York, and Atlanta, Georgia. Services Evergreen specializes in mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and chemical/environmental engineering primarily for the power, wood products, resin and formaldehyde, pulp and paper, semiconductor, and metals industries. Evergreen provides these services throughout North America. Our engineers, process specialists, technical designers, and support staff have the experience and creativity to provide our clients with innovative and cost-effective designs. Our services include: planning, scheduling, feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, capital estimates, detail engineering, process design, environmental permitting, purchasing, construction and startup assistance, and project management. Evergreen also has current staff experience in successful environmental permitting of energy facilities. This includes state and federal-level construction and operating permits for air and water discharges from central station power plants (750 MW coal, 1100 MW nuclear, and 800 MW combined-cycle combustion turbine), simple-cycle combustion turbine peaking and standby plants (natural gas, oil and dual-fuel up to 300 MW ), and wood/bark-fueled boilers and process heaters at forest products manufacturing sites (40,000 – 200,000 lb. steam/hour). This experience includes permit to construct applications, modeling plans, dispersion modeling in simple and complex terrain, visibility modeling for Class I area and regional haze impacts, NSR and PSD applications (including RACT/BACT /LAER analyses), agency liaison and negotiations, and preparation of both State and Federal Title V permit applications. S T A F F & Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S Staff Between the two offices, Evergreen has a total staff of about 135 full time employees, 90% of whom are registered engineers, degreed engineers, designers, and draftsman. If required by the demands of a project, we can quickly add qualified personnel to our staff from our network of proven engineers and designers. Projects Some of our recent power projects include: Teledyne W ah Chang (six, 2.5 MW natural gas reciprocation engines with waste heat recovery), Thompson River Co-Gen (16.5 MW extraction, wood and coal fired), and W eyerhaeuser (multiple pulp and paper plant steam turbine plants). W e have completed numerous others over our 20 year history. Key Evergreen staff members have experience in power plants with steam capacities in excess of 3.5 MM lb/hr, and generating capacities in excess of 450MW . Evergreen has successfully completed design engineering for projects valued from a few thousand dollars to over $100 million. Examples are a $60 million MDF plant located in Georgia for Georgia-Pacific, a $15 million woodyard modification for Mead Paper in Michigan, and a $150 million California rice straw MDF facility feasibility study. W e have also completed “cold weather” projects in Maine, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia which required special designs for the civil, structural, and mechanical elements of the projects. Insurance Evergreen carries insurance coverage meeting the requirements of our clients and local jurisdictions as well as Errors and Emissions Insurance (E&O).
