Level of information detail varies according to phase requirements. 1. Renewable Energy Source The Applicant should demonstrate that the renewable energy resource is available on a sustainable basis. Annual average resource availability. All resources considered well over 400kwh enough to eliminate Heating and Generator fuel consumption. But at what cost? We're to identify the most feasible and practice solutions. Unit depends on project type (e.g. windspeed, hydropower output, biomasss fuel) Hydro power (four sources available here), Solar power, Wind, Residential energy producers options, Wood gas and heat power production, possibility combination of old but re engineered power production would need to come into play. Two inexpensive Hydrpower systems and converting our present generator system to biomass fuel like wood gas (abundant here)to fuel the engines might be an inexpensive solution and leave us with an impressive carbon foot print saving, as a community. 2. Existing Energy Generation a) Basic configuration (if system is part of the Railbelt1 grid, leave this section blank) i. Number of generators/boilers/other 4 50kwh Generators ii. Rated capacity of generators/boilers/other 200kwh iii. Generator/boilers/other type iv. Age of generators/boilers/other 10 year v. Efficiency of generators/boilers/other b) Annual O&M cost (if system is part of the Railbelt grid, leave this section blank) i. Annual O&M cost for labor 50,000.00 ii. Annual O&M cost for non-labor 200,000.00 c) Annual electricity production and fuel usage (fill in as applicable) (if system is part of the 1 The Railbelt grid connects all customers of Chugach Electric Association, Homer Electric Association, Golden Valley Electric Association, the City of Seward Electric Department, Matanuska Electric Association and Anchorage Municipal Light and Power. Project Cost a) Total capital cost of new system 600,000.00 b) Development cost 250,000.00 c) Annual O&M cost of new system 50,000.00 d) Annual fuel cost 0 5. Project Benefits a) Amount of fuel displaced for i. Electricity 24,000.00 ii. Heat 0 iii. Transportation 0 b) Price of displaced fuel 192,000.00 c) Other economic benefits d) Amount of Alaska public benefits 6. Power Purchase/Sales Price a) Price for power purchase/sale .27/35 for ten year payback 7. Project Analysis a) Basic Economic Analysis Project benefit/cost ratio Payback Maintaining the same power rate to customers would create a 3 year payback with future kw rates dropping 80 percent, saving the state of Alaska and Crooked Creek over 200,000 dollars a year in Fuel expenses. Using easy maintenance and low tech. technologies ensure maintenance requirements can be met locally.
