RESOLUTION 08-08
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LAKE AND PENINSULA BOROUGH TO SUBMIT
GRANT APPLICATIONS TO ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, Lake and Peninsula Borough is committed to alleviating the energy crisis
for citizens and businesses in Lake and Peninsula Borough, and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Energy Authority has issued a request for grant applications
from qualified applicants for the pUrpose of evaluating and recommending renewable
energy projects to be funded by the Alaska State Legislature, and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Energy Authority will solicit grant applications in two rounds.
The first round application is due October 8, 2008; the second round application is due
November 10,2008, and
WHEREAS, Lake and Peninsula Borough has employed a contractor to produce a
borough-wide energy plan which will include recommendations for energy projects, and
WHEREAS, these projects will help the communities and promote other energy projects
throughout the Borough;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Borough Assembly, by this resolution,
endorses the grant applications to be submitted to Alaska Energy Authority Renewable
Energy Grant Solicitation for the following projects:
Supplemental Wind Recon & Intertie Feasibility Study
Chignik, Chignik Lake, Chignik Lagoon
Wind Recon & Feasibility Study
Egegik
NewhalenjIliamna
Pedro Bay
Port Alsworth
Wind Feasibility Study
Port Heiden
Pilot Point
Wood Heat DesignjBuild Project
Pedro Bay

Nondalton

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Manager or delegated staff is
authorized to negotiate and execute any and all documents required for granting and
managing funds on behalf of this organization.
PASSED AND APPROVED by a duly constituted quorum of the Lake and Peninsula
Borough Assembly on this 16th day of September, 2008
