Dear Dr. Elliot,
I am writing to you on behalf of Regal Enterprises to inform you that we can
supply twenty truck loads of chips for the boiler system to heat the Kenny Lake School.
This equates to approximately 500 tons of chips. The price will very between $ 60 - $80
per ton_ We feel there will be no problem supplying this amount of wood fiber per year,
with a joint commitment from The State of Alaska, BLM, and the local Alaskan Native
Corporations to make low grade timber available for harvest.,
We are presently firing a wood chip boiler at Sara Christian Community using the
same type of material that the Kenny Lake School would be using in a wood chip boiler
system.
According to the State of Alaska Division of Forestry on average there are 20 torts
of wood fiber per acre. Division of Forestry estimates thet there are approximately 4
mil lion acres of land producing wood fiber in the Copper River Basin These estimates
:-:40e just to give you an idea of wood volume available in the Copper River Basin.
