WHEREAS Haines Assisted Living, Inc. is currently constructing a senior
assisted living facility, and
WHEREAS Extensive life cycle energy cost analysis completed in 2007 supports
the economic and technological feasibility of heating the facility with
a Ground Source Heat Pump geothermal system, and
WHEREAS The Alaska Energy Authority issued a Request For Applications for
grant funds to construct Renewable Energy projects throughout the
state, and
WHEREAS Haines Assisted Living, Inc. is in compliance with all federal, state
and local laws, including existing credit and federal tax obligations;

That Haines Assisted Living, Inc. apply to the Alaska Energy
Authority for a total of $1,432,906.00 to be matched with
$946,101.00 of its own

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
funds for the construction of a Ground
That Dan Austin, Project Manager, be designated as the contact
person to represent Haines Assisted Living, Inc. for the purposes of
the grant application.
